NEW YORK Publicis Groupe’s The Kaplan Thaler Group has launched its first work for Pfizer’s Celebrex with a print execution that broke today in newspapers, the client said.

The print ad shows a drawing of a middle-aged man happily playing tennis. Accompanying body copy warns “prescription Celebrex is not for everyone,” and refers those suffering from asthma or allergies to aspirin products. It makes no mention of possible side effects related to coronary distress, even though Celebrex is in the same class of prescription drugs as Merck’s Vioxx, which was pulled from the market this month for that very reason.
