CHICAGO-The Kansas City Star is considering three hometown ad agencies for its account, which has been dormant in recent years.
Finalists for the newspaper’s account are Kansas City, Mo., shops Muller + Co., Kuhn & Wittenborn, and Barkley & Evergreen, said Susan Cantrell, promotions and new product development director at the company. The incumbent was Bernstein-Rein Advertising, also Kansas City, but the Star has done little advertising since 1990, Cantrell said. “The paper wanted to be more interactive,” she said.
The account-which sources valued at more than $1 million-will include media buying.
