BOSTON Regional florist chain KaBloom is looking at several smaller agencies for its ad account, the client has confirmed.

Current contenders are McCarthy Mambro Bertino and incumbent KPC/Christopher Thomas, both in Boston, and Re:group in Ann Arbor, Mich., said Laurie Lee, director of marketing at KaBloom. Other shops may also be added to the mix before a decision is made next month, she said.

"We're in a growth stage and we're looking to ensure we have an agency who can take us to the next level," said Lee. Recent campaigns have carried the tagline, "The power of fresh flowers."

Ad spending had been nearly $1 million in 2000-01, but the chain has spent just $150,000 through the first half of 2003, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
