NEW YORK JWT global account handler Peter Grossman has assumed the added responsibility of leading client services at the WPP Group shop's headquarters here.
Grossman, a global business director on JWT's Cadbury Adams and Schick Wilkinson accounts, this week was named to the new position of director of client services.
In his new role, Grossman, 40, will oversee about a dozen domestic business directors in New York, according to an agency representative. As such, he is tasked with managing client service and helping to grow existing business. Domestic clients of the shop's New York office include Macy's, JetBlue and Sunglass Hut.
Grossman's promotion comes amid a restructuring after the exit of New York chief operating officer John Garland. Garland left the agency after eight years to form his own company.
JWT New York president Rosemarie Ryan credited Grossman, a 10-year veteran of the agency, with earning the trust of clients, "pushing new avenues" and nurturing talent. "If Peter doesn't know the answer, he knows the right question to ask," said Ryan, to whom Grossman will report. "He is ambition for our clients, their brands, JWT and himself, and we're pleased to announce this promotion."
Grossman joined JWT in 1997 as a global account director on Schick Wilkinson and two years later added account management duties on Diageo. In 2003, he became a global business director on Cadbury Adams and Schick.
