NEW YORK In his first big hires since becoming chief creative officer of JWT in New York, Ty Montague has recruited Jeremy Postaer and Peter Nicholson to partner as executive creative directors, the agency confirmed. The WPP Group shop now has five ecd-level teams.
Postaer, 41, is a former group creative director at Omnicom Group's GSD&M in Austin, Texas and a former creative director at Omnicom's Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco. His brand experience includes Land Rover, Kohler, E*Trade, TiVo and Finlandia. In 2003, he took a break from advertising to study music.
Nicholson, 36, a former group creative director at Goodby, was most recently chief creative officer of the New York office of Publicis Groupe's Publicis, which has clients including L'Oreal, Procter & Gamble, Heineken and Fuji Films. He left Publicis in September, after two years in the post.
At JWT, Postaer and Nicholson will work on Diageo, Rolex and Cadbury Adams, the agency said.
Montague became creative chief in January, succeeding the duo of ecd Eric Steinhauser and deputy ecd Nat Whitten. Steinhauser remains an ecd, partnering with Jon Krevolin, while Whitten is shifting back to freelance work.
