JWT Makes Changes at Top

DALLAS--JWT Specialized Communications here has promoted two of its top executives and shifted responsibility for day-to-day operations at the shop.





Ron Jenkins, who previously served as president of JWT Specialized Communications' operations in both Dallas and Houston, assumes the new title of managing partner. Leslye Geller becomes managing director, with responsibility for the agency's daily operations in Dallas.





Geller and Karen Eldred, who is managing director of JWTSC's Houston office, will continue to report to Jenkins.





Jenkins said he has recently taken on additional national responsibilities, including some new business development chores.





'We're growing in so many different areas that I just had to get out of the day-to-day aspect of it,' Jenkins said.





Jenkin's said his president's title was changed to managing director for the sake of consistency with other offices.





Geller is a 15-year veteran of the agency. Prior to her appointment, she served as senior vice president of employment communications and media research.





Throughout her tenure at the agency, Geller has led media buying efforts. She assumed responsibility for research in 1992 and in 1995 was chosen to oversee the shop's employment communications.





Geller could not be reached at press time to discuss her new duties.





The executive changes at JWTSC come on the heels of a $3 million billings surge for the agency, which until last year was known as Anderson Fischel Thompson.





JWT Specialized Communications in Dallas reports annual billings of $28 million and serves clients in several niche arenas, including healthcare and senior citizens marketing.
