JWT Creative Duo Joins True Grey

NEW YORK The guys who cut Danny DeVito down to size for the Lipton Brisk campaign and who won a gold Lion at Cannes last year for their Malibu Rum work have joined True Grey, a division of Grey Worldwide, the agency said.

Steve Krauss and Ari Halper, who also worked on such accounts as Smirnoff Ice and Merrill Lynch at J. Walter Thompson in New York, joined True Grey on Feb. 10.

They are both vice presidents and cds reporting to the division's ecd Jonathan Rodgers, who joined last summer from BBDO. Their hiring brings to seven, the number of vp, cds within True Grey, which has a staff of 60.

Krauss, 37, and Halper, 32, are art director and copywriter, respectively, and were acds at JWT. Krauss is a 13-year veteran of that agency and has worked with Halper since 2000.

True Grey's clients include Aetna, Dairy Queen, Dow Corning, Ethan Allen, Olive Garden, Amerada Hess, Gallo and American Plastics.

Halper joined JWT from DDB Chicago where he worked for five years on Budweiser and Bud Light. Before DDB, he worked at D'Arcy for three years.
