Men are from Mars, and they’d like to get back. At any rate, that would explain why men are significantly more likely than women to favor the president’s proposal that NASA gradually shift its efforts toward a manned mission to Mars (via a waystation built on the moon). In polling conducted for the Associated Press by Ipsos-Public Affairs, 57 percent of men favored the plan, vs. 40 percent of women. Among men age 18-44, the figure rose to 64 percent.
