Pennzoil Products Co.’s Jiffy Lube International is preparing to review the creative portion of its estimated $8 million national account after accepting the resignation of Smith Advertising last month.
Cindy Landers, director of public relations for Jiffy Lube, confirmed that a review will begin after the first of the year–following the Dec. 30 completion of Pennzoil’s merger with Quaker State Corp.
Bill Smith, president of Smith Advertising, Westwood, Kan., confirmed that his agency had resigned the account but declined to elaborate.
Among the likely contenders for the account will be Pennzoil’s lead agency, GSD&M in Austin, Texas, which has placed media for the Jiffy Lube broadcast creative developed by Smith.
