Jiffy Lube expects to choose the winner of its $18 million account early this week after narrowing the contenders to FCB and McCarthy Mambro Bertino.

MMB, a 10-person shop, was formed when its principals bought Square One’s Boston office earlier this year. Led by former Nike global marketing director Joe McCarthy, ex-Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos president Fred Bertino and former Hill, Holliday creative director Jamie Mambro, the shop’s major client is Samuel Adams beer.

Cut during the review’s semifinal round last week were Tracy-Locke Partnership, Dallas, and Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco.

“We have looked at all four groups from a creative standpoint,” said a Jiffy Lube representative.
