DALLAS–Jackhammer–formerly the R&D unit of The Richards Group here–has surfaced as a contender in a review being conducted for the Western regional advertising account of Daewoo Motors.

Jackhammer, recently restructured as a separate agency still closely affiliated with The Richards Group, enters the competition as two other finalists–Lambesis in Del Mar, Calif., and San Francisco’s Odiorne Wilde Narraway Groome–have withdrawn from the estimated $10 million review.

Joining Jackhammer as an apparent late entry, sources said, is Wiley & Associates, a small creative shop in Westlake Village, Calif.
