BOSTON Jack Morton Worldwide, an Interpublic events marketing agency, has promoted Josh McCall to chief executive officer.
Previously, McCall, 42, had served as president and chief operating officer at the agency's Boston office.
Part of his charge will be fostering collaborations between Jack Morton and other agencies within the IPG network. Jack Morton is part of the team working on IPG's $170 million Bank of America account, joined by sister shops Deutsch, Gotham, Weber Shandwick and others.
McCall reports to Mark Dowley, chairman and CEO of IPG's Interpublic Sports and Entertainment Group. Dowley will not name a new president, COO to replace McCall.
McCall succeeds William Morton, who had served as CEO since 1977 when he took over the role from his father, agency founder Jack Morton. William Morton retains the chairman's title.
McCall joined Jack Morton in 1984 as an account manager in its New York headquarters, moving to Boston in 1990. He became svp, Eastern region in 1993 and president and COO in 2000.
Other Jack Morton clients include General Motors, IBM and the Athens 2004 Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games.
