It’s one of those scientific facts we hear of from time to time: People who eat breakfast live longer than people who don’t. Without doubting this is true, we may wonder to what extent it’s a mere correlation rather than a cause-and-effect-i.e., people who skip the meal are less likely than daily breakfasters to lead well-ordered, salubrious lives in general.
