Irma S. Mann, Strategic Marketing has named Janet Eason senior vice president and director of account planning and media services. Alan Casucci has joined as vice president and director of marketing.
The appointments were made to support ISM's goal of becoming a stronger independent player regionally and to strengthen its credentials as a travel and hospitality marketing shop nationwide, said Gary Leopold, CEO and president of the 70-person agency in Boston.
Eason and Casucci are charged with helping ISM target clients larger than those in the $3-6 million range, which currently make up most of the agency's roster, Leopold said.
Eason joins from Arnold's operations in Virginia, where she was director of marketing and media services and oversaw the Virginia Lottery and Coalition on Organ Tissue Donation accounts. Eason worked for ISM as media director in the late 1980s and returned mainly because of a desire to work for "a smaller company with a more specific, focused approach," she said. Eason will help develop strategic plans for ISM clients across the board, though she probably won't lead any specific accounts.
Casucci, who will mainly work on new business at ISM, was most recently a district sales director for CMP Media.
Both Eason and Casucci's positions are new and come at a time when many mid-sized players have sought to invigorate their new-business efforts and add senior-level talent. Gearon Hoffman and The Atlantic Group recently named Robert Knight and Jeffrey Westhoven, respectively, as their directors of business development.
ISM grew about 12 percent in 2000. Clients include the Massachusetts Port Authority, The Islands of the Bahamas and Sonesta Hotels' properties in Boston and Bermuda.
