S.F. Chronicle Hires Olivo

The San Francisco Chronicle has named Allen Olivo vice president of marketing. He will be responsible for overall marketing of The Chronicle and brand-building efforts, including advertising, events, research, media and public relations. He will also assist the advertising-sales teams in developing advertising-sales and marketing programs. Olivo joins the newspaper from Apple Computer, where he was senior director, retail marketing, with responsibility for marketing programs for Apple retail stores. He reports to Gary Randazzo, executive vice president and general manager of The Chronicle.
