Think New Ideas and Ingalls Moranville Advertising, both San Francisco, are in a review for a new $2.5 million assignment from Adauction.com, San Francisco. It includes creating a print, online and outdoor brand strategy for the online ad auction channel, as well as media planning and buying. A decision is expected in November. Adauction also has reached 100 Web publishers with the addition of BizTravel.com, Cars.com, e-commerce site XOOM.com and finance site HomeShark.com to its offerings.
More Portal Clubs
Infoseek, Sunnyvale, Calif., this week will launch a new clubs venture that will be part of its Go Network portal with Disney and Disney-owned Starwave when it debuts in November. Users can form communities that eventually will be able to access content from Disney-owned online ventures, such as ESPN.com and ABCNews.com. The clubs can be private or public. Yahoo and Excite also recently announced their own community programs.
Buyers Love Local Sites
According to a new study for New York's Real Media Network of 550 locally-branded media Web sites, Internet users who access the Web through local news sites are proven online buyers. The study by The Laredo Group, Boston, found 72 percent of Real Media Network users have made a purchase using the Internet.
