MTV Interactive, New York, today will relaunch its roster of music and entertainment Web sites, including mtv.com, vh1.com and sonicnet.com, as well as a group of international music sites. Today also marks the debut of Radio SonicNet, MTVi's streaming Web radio network of more than 35 preprogrammed channels that also can be customized by users. The revamped sites will feature easier navigation, a universal streaming audio and video format across the entire MTVi network of sites and more community functionality.
Site Now Is Meatier
FoodTV.com, the Web home of New York-based cable channel Food Network, today unveils its beefed-up site. While the previous incarnation of the site primarily functioned as an informational and program guide to the cable network, the newly spruced-up version will offer users more original content and Web-only features, including an internal recipe search.
Shoppers, Get Ready
Online powerhouse America Online, Dulles, Va., today kicks off its Shop AOL e-holiday shopping season. The Shop Initiative includes more than 300 merchant partners, as well as a number of integrated online shopping catalogs that offer e-shoppers best-of-breed products. AOL also introduces quick checkout, a shopping search and simplified navigation through its shopping area.
Beauty.com, the New York-based Web destination for health and beauty, launches today. The site will feature tips from makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin and dermatologist Patricia Wexler.
