-Custom CD purveyor musicmaker.com, Reston, Va., inked a three-year licensing agreement with independent folk label Smithsonian Folkways, Washington. The agreement will make the label's catalog of 35,000 tracks available on the musicmaker.com site for custom compilation and digital download. Additionally, musicmaker.com will install walk-up kiosks at Smithsonian museums throughout Washington, allowing consumers to create custom CDs and personalize the case with titles and graphic art.

-Giftpoint.com has chosen Beyond Interactive, Ann Arbor, Mich., to launch an online advertising campaign promoting the Omaha, Neb.-based company as the premier destination for gift givers. Media spending will exceed $1 million in the next two months. The online gift certificate site was formed in 1998.

-Gay and lesbian vertical portal Gay.com, San Francisco, last week announced a new roster of advertisers, including American Airlines, Neiman Marcus, Mo't Chandon champagne, Saturn automobiles and swanky online clothier Boo.com.
