NEW YORK Interpublic Group said Friday that it is merging Bozell with Lowe, and that Bozell CEO Tom Bernardin will play a leading role in the combined operation, which will be called Lowe.

But IPG said Bernardin would take the U.S. titles of president and chief operating officer, not CEO, as many sources had initially anticipated (Adweek, Feb. 3). The U.S. CEO will remain Paul Hammersley.

Jerry Judge continues as worldwide CEO and Gary Goldsmith remains U.S.
