At home and at work, people are spending less time surfing the World Wide Web, according to Nielsen NetRatings.

A study by the Milpitas, Calif., company found time spent on the Internet down 15 percent from October through December to just under 15 hours a month, from 17 hours. Also down were the number of page views, sessions and unique sites visited.

The news comes on the heels of a report showing shoppers overwhelmingly reporting positive e-commerce experiences over the holiday season, according to research from NPD e-Visory.
