NEW YORK Intel has launched online chat sessions supporting its Quad Core processors, an effort that seeks to gather opinions from the IT sector and foster a feeling of community among its customer base, the company said.

Sandra Lopez, global business integrated marketing manager at Intel, said the hourlong chats, which run through Friday, feature a select group of the company’s technical experts who answer questions from enthusiasts and IT managers.

The companies of Interpublic Group’s McCann Worldgroup devised the marketing strategy, called “Four Days of Dialogue,” and created banner ads on sites such as CNet and Slashdot.
