Initiative Names Wray to Run Midwest

CHICAGO -- Initiative Media North America named former Foote, Cone & Belding worldwide media director Fred Wray executive vice president, managing director of Initiative Media, Central Region. Wray,47, will be based in Chicago and oversee the Interpublic Group of Cos. media network's operations in Chicago, Cleveland and Dallas. The Central Region handles such clients as Bally's and Chuck E. Cheese.

Wray spent 20 years at FCB, rising to run the agency's $8 billion global media operation, He also served as president of FCB's unbundled media arm, TN Media, before leaving in 2000. Most recently, Wray was chief marketing officer of ewireless, inc. At Initiative, he replaces Will Howard, who was dismissed.

TN Media parent True North Communications was acquired by IPG in 2001. TN Media was subsequently merged into Initiative.
