NEW YORK Initiative Worldwide has tapped Philippe Bernard to run operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the Interpublic Group-owned company said today.
Bernard, who was previously president of European operations at IPG's Lowe, will start April 26 and be based in London.
Bernard will report to Marie-Jose Forissier, chairman, Initiative Worldwide and CEO for operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.
In his new role as president, Bernard replaces Sergio Lorca, who after four years will return to Madrid, Spain, where he will launch a new concept communications agency aimed at the youth market.
Previously Bernard worked at Havas, before joining Lowe (formerly the Lintas Group) in the 1980's as an account executive. Bernard was appointed president of Lowe's European operations in 2001, a role he held concurrently with that of president of Lowe in France.
