At least six agencies have emerged as contenders for the estimated $25 million advertising account of PNC Bank.
Along with incumbents Ketchum Advertising, Pittsburgh, and McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C., agencies in the hunt include Mullen, Wenham, Mass., W.B. Doner & Co., Southfield, Mich., and New York shops Deutsch and Margeotes/Fertitta + Partners, sources said. Others may also be under consideration.
Denise Thorn Johnson, the new senior vice president, corporate marketing at Pittsburgh-based PNC who is driving the review, did not return calls. Agency executives either could not be reached or declined comment.
Consulting firm Richard Roth Associates, Chappaqua, New York, is assisting the client with the process.
