The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity will name finalists for its $12 million tourism account next month, according to Pile and Co. in Boston, which is managing the search. The office will choose from a list of Chicago-based semifinalists selected last week: Havas’ Euro RSCG Tatham, WPP’s J. Walter Thompson and Young & Rubicam, IPG’s Campbell Mithun and independents Grant Jacoby and Hoffman York. The incumbent, Omnicom’s BBDO in Chicago, is not defending.
