R.J. Dale Advertising has bested four shops for the Illinois Lottery’s $20 million account, the client said. The Chicago independent, which primarily handles African American business, had worked on projects for the lottery since Omnicom’s DDB Chicago resigned the account in January. The other finalists were the Marketing Store, an Oak Brook, Ill., independent; and Publicis’ Burrell Communications, WPP’s J. Walter Thompson and IPG’s Campbell Mithun, all Chicago.
