NEW YORK Phil Geier, the former chairman and CEO of the Interpublic Group of Cos., is joining the board of directors of Intermedia Advertising Group. The New York-based research company monitors and rates the effectiveness of television ads on a daily basis.
Geier became chairman and CEO of IPG in 1980. He retired from this position at the end of December 2000 and now serves as chairman emeritus of IPG. Geier also serves on the board of directors of AEA Investors, Alcon Laboratories, Fiduciary Trust International; Foot Locker, Mettler-Toledo International and Swiss International Airlines.
In addition to tapping Geier, IAG has also hired Robert Lane, former vp for finance at Nielsen Media, as CFO. The company has also brought in Jeffrey Todder, a former vp at NFO, who joins IAG as vp and director of research. Kate Pascasio, formerly UPN's vp for sales, research and marketing, has been named IAG's director of client services for the Eastern region.
