NEW YORK The Interactive Advertising Bureau's Hispanic Committee is sending out requests for proposals to 20 Hispanic and general-market shops this week for a pro-bono assignment.
The committee last month decided to enlist agency help to get more advertisers to target Latinos online [Adweek, Jan. 26].
The committee is looking for an agency to handle creative and media for a campaign that will "position the interactive advertising space as a vital medium within the Hispanic advertising market," according to the RFP. The effort will aim "to educate and empower the industry with regards to standard practices, research, learnings, case studies and overall insight," the RFP said.
The IAB said it is sending RFPs to the following agencies: Avenue A in Seattle; Casanova Pendrill in Irvine, Calif.; Grupo Gallegos in Long Beach, Calif.; La Agencia de Orci in Los Angeles; Lopez Negrete in Houston; Mendoza, Dillon & Asociados in Aliso Viejo, Calif.; Tapestry in Chicago; Zubi Advertising in Coral Gables, Fla.; The Bravo Group, La Comunidad and Media 8, all Miami; Bromley Communications, Garcia LKS 360 and The Cartel Group, all San Antonio; Conill Advertising, The Vidal Partnership and Euro RSCG, all New York; and Ornelas & Asociates and Dieste, Harmel & Partners, both Dallas.
Liz Sarachek, executive director of sales at Yahoo! en Espanol, who is chairing the IAB Hispanic Committee's marketing group, said the organization would be open to receiving inquiries from agencies not on the list.
RFPs are due back March 31.
