ATLANTA Huey/Paprocki struck gold eight times at the recent ShowSouth Awards, sponsored by Creativity Atlanta.
The Atlanta shop said it won the most gold prizes at the event, held at the Georgia-Pacific Building in Atlanta. H/P also was honored with 13 silver and 31 bronze awards.
H/P's creative work was recognized across a number of advertising categories including radio, print, out-of-home, direct mail, collateral and sales promotion, the shop said. Ads for clients such as the Sierra Club, Mizuno USA, Distant Replays, Jerzees Apparel, Do-It-Yourself Network, Dee Davis Realty, The High Museum and Weatherbug were among those honored.
"Our goal is to create work that gets noticed and talked about by consumers," said Joe Paprocki, creative director at H/P. "When that work also gets noticed and talked about by cynical advertising judges, you know you've nailed it."
Ron Huey, creative director, said he was most proud of winning awards for nine different clients. The shop received a total of 50 awards at the event, Huey added.
Sandra Stockman, executive director at Creativity Atlanta, said other winners at ShowSouth included BBDO, Austin Kelley Advertising, WestWayne and recently closed BaylessCronin, all of Atlanta. BBDO received best of show honors and a gold award for its work for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Austin Kelley won four golds for its Children's Museum of Atlanta and Retro Modern campaigns. WestWayne took home a gold for its Museum of Science and Industry "Nightlight" campaign, according to Stockman. Former BaylessCronin executives submitted work for Discovery Channel's SharkWeek series, which also earned a gold award.
ShowSouth is a regional advertising awards competition presented by Creativity Atlanta, the result of the merger of the Atlanta Ad Club and the Creative Club of Atlanta. This year ShowSouth incorporated the 7th District Advertising Federation Addy Awards and ShowSouth into one event in which entrants from the Southeast vied for regional honors. Gold district winners will be entered in the national Addy competition, according to Creativity Atlanta.
