HP Top Marketer Johnson Departs

SAN FRANCISCO Allison Johnson, svp of marketing at Hewlett-Packard, has resigned and will join Apple Computer as vp of worldwide marketing communications, HP said today.

Mike Winkler, CMO and evp of HP’s customer solutions group, will absorb Johnson’s duties, the client said.

HP CEO Carly Fiorina left the company last week.

Apple’s lead agency is TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif. The client spent about $115 million on ads last year, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

Johnson previously worked at Apple in various marketing roles in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
