Ikea Pulls Offensive Ad by CP+B

ATLANTA—Ikea yanked a Crispin Porter + Bogusky advertisement from West Coast dailies including the Los Angeles Times last week. The ad, which incorporated a photograph of a predatory woman prisoner about to assault another female inmate, generated complaints from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. In a letter to Ikea marketing manager Christian Mathieu, GLAAD’s Scott Seomin labeled the ad, which promoted the store’s no-sales tax anniversary promotion, “offensive.”
