McKinney Breaks Work for Charisma LinensATLANTA—McKinney & Silver's latest campaign for Charisma Bed & Bath Linens breaks this month in Vanity Fair, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Metropolitan Home, Town and Country, Victoria and In Style, among other magazines. The print effort from the Raleigh, N.C., shop features images of a cloud, a feather and a rose that appear to hang from clotheslines. Charisma, a division of Cannon Towels & Linens, is headquartered in Kannapolis, N.C. Bryant, Italiano Get Executive Posts at MullenATLANTA—Mullen has has added two senior-level executives. Taylor Bryant joins the Winston-Salem, N.C., office of the Wenham, Mass-based agency as chief marketing officer. Deborah Italiano comes aboard as senior vice president and group account director. The hires come, in part, because of increased manpower needs triggered by the agency's Wachovia financial services account. GSD&M Takes Best of Show at National AddysATLANTA—GSD&M received best of show print honors for its Land Rover campaign at the national Addy awards presentation held in Miami on June 8. Art directors Steve Newton, David Crawford and Lou Flores, along with copywriters Cameron Day, Jeremy Postaer and Mark Ray created the series for the Austin, Texas, agency. The winning ads, "Wilks," "Louvre" and "Nations Collide," appeared in The Wall Street Journal. Crispin Is a Finalist in Anti-Smoking ReviewCHICAGO—Three agencies are expected to advance in the review for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota's 10-year, $80-110 million anti-smoking review: Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis, Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami and Arnold in San Francisco. A decision is expected by July, sources said. A client representative denied a cut had been made. Southeast, Southwest Agencies Win EffiesATLANTA—Two Southeast and two Southwest agencies earned Effies last week. The awards, sponsored by the New York American Marketing Association, honor advertising effectiveness. BBDO in Atlanta won a bronze Effie for its Cingular Wireless campaign, and J. Walter Thompson in Atlanta received two bronze prizes for its U.S. Marine Corps work. The Richards Group in Dallas took a gold for its Travelocity.com ads, and DDB Dallas won a bronze for its Essilor of America advertising. For the RecordRBI Communications, agency for auto dealership marketing services provider Direct Data USA, has awarded its media buying business to JL Media in Tulsa, Okla. Based on information provided by The Montalbano Group, it was reported that the account had gone to Montalbano in Metaire, La. [Adweek, May 27]. The Austin Metropolitan Financial Credit Union hired NourzAds of Austin, Texas, to handle a name change and branding project, not, as suggested, as agency of record.
