Obie Award Winners Donate Prize Money

ATLANTA—The winners of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America's 2001 Obie Awards are donating their prize money to relief funds aiding the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. BBDO Canada in Toronto, which received the best of show award for its DaimlerChrysler Jeep work, has chosen the DaimlerChrysler Help the Children Fund. In New York, thelordgroup, winner of best billboard single for Major League Baseball's Authentic Collection, has selected Engine 22 and Ladder 9 fire companies as the recipients of its prize. Adworks in Washington, which earned best campaign honors for its L.L. Bean advertising, will contribute to the Survivors' Fund of the Community Foundation (National Capital Region). The fund's focus is on the long-term educational, health, income maintenance and other needs of victims and their families in the D.C. area. The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., will give the award money for its National Civil Rights Museum campaign to the Firefighters' Emergency Fund.

LoJack Launches Search for Ad Partner

BOSTON—Stolen car recovery company LoJack has launched an agency review for its advertising account. Five-year incumbent Greenberg Seronick O'Leary &Partners in Boston will defend the business. The client has spent about $1 million on advertising this year, but sources projected the 2002 media budget will be in the$6-10 million range as LoJack looks to expand beyond its Northeast markets. Pile and Co. in Boston is overseeing the search.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield Begins Review

CHICAGO—The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association has put its $10-15 million advertising account into review without inviting six-year incumbent Foote, Cone & Belding. Chicago consultancy Jones Lundin Beals is conducting the review, a representative for the Chicago-based healthcare organization said. The review was prompted by "a new advertising team and strategic advertising direction," according to a statement from the company.

ATLANTA—The Morrison Agency has acquired the advertising account of eQuorum, an Internet-basedsoftware specialist. The Atlanta shop will develop marketing and communications strategies, plan media and create advertising for the client. Headquartered in Atlanta, eQuorum maintains offices in Herndon, Va., Los Angeles, Dallas and Princeton, N.J. In addition, The Morrison Agency has been selected to conceive and implement dealer marketing programs and materials for AutoTrader.com, also located in Atlanta. ... Creaxion has added Revenue Technologies Corp. to its client roster. The Atlanta agency will be responsible for the client's public relations, national media and analyst outreach programs, and partnership management. RTC is based in Atlanta ... Cinnamon Beach, a real estate developer headquartered in Palm Coast, Fla., has selected Morgan & Partners as its advertising agency. The $3 million account was awarded to M&P without a review.
