McRae Communications Grabs Snapper
ATLANTA—Snapper has awarded its creative account to McRae Communications. The Atlanta agency will launch television, radio and print ads in support of the lawn and garden equipment maker's national network of independent retailers, as well as its partnering efforts with Wal-Mart stores. Last year Snapper, also based in metro Atlanta, awarded media planning and placement duties for Georgia and the Carolinas to McRae.
Titan Network Signs 7 Clients
ATLANTA—Titan Network has added seven accounts. New clients at the public relations and business consultancy are: b-to-b e-commerce provider Clarus Corp., software supplier Proficient Systems and business solutions provider Bright Lane, all Atlanta; digital rights consultancy TryMedia of San Francisco; New York's Helios Consulting; tour operator Vacationrite in Knoxville, Tenn.; and Florida equities fund company Equivest. The Atlanta agency, which opened its doors last January, has also resolved lawsuits involving a contractual dispute between Titan principal Tony DeMartino and his former employer, Cohn & Wolfe, New York.
Valent USA Picks Archer/Malmo
ATLANTA—Archer/Malmo has won the account of Valent USA. The Memphis, Tenn., agency outperformed incumbents Biggs/Gilmore Communications in Kalamazoo, Mich., and Meyocks & Priebe in West Des Moines, Iowa, as well as finalists Colle + McVoy in Minneapolis and CMF&Z in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Valent of Walnut Creek, Calif., manufactures products for the agricultural and lawn-care industries. Archer/Malmo's duties will involve advertising, media, interactive marketing, public relations and promotions. Billings are undisclosed.
Barber Martin Goes Auto Racing
ATLANTA—Barber Martin Advertising has added two accounts to its roster. In a review against undisclosed regional shops, the Richmond, Va.-based agency wonRichmond International Raceway and the Dominion Auto Group, also of Richmond. Work for the raceway will support the track's marketing and public relations efforts on behalf of Nascar's Winston Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck Series, as well as Indy Racing League events. Duties for Dominion Auto will include television, radio, print and direct mail. Billings for both accounts are undisclosed.
Volvo Trucks Contracts Trone PR
ATLANTA—Volvo Trucks North America has retained Trone Public Relations to handle its media relations and trade publicity requirements. Earlier this year, the Greensboro, N.C., shop had been working with nearby Volvo Trucks on a project basis, handling publicity and media relations for the truck and engine manufacturer at trade expositions.
