TBWA\C\D Set to Bow First Work for Kmart

NEW YORK—TBWA\Chiat\Day’s first work for Kmart, set to break in a few weeks, reclaims a brand icon from the retailer’s past: the blue light that flashed in stores to indicate sales, sources said. TV spots and outdoor ads feature the blue glow and employ a theme of “The blue light is back,” said sources. In a billboard ad, for example, the glow emanates from what is clearly Yankee Stadium, according to sources.
