Defense Contractor Revs Up $15 Mil. Review
BOSTON--At least 50 agencies across the country, including The Richards Group of Dallas and GSD&M in Austin, Texas, have been contacted by Raytheon Co. regarding duties on its estimated $15 million corporate and business units ad account, a company official said. Six semifinalists will be selected within a week or two. Incumbent Ingalls Advertising is not participating but retains recruitment and interactive assignments. That Boston agency may be reassigned some portion of the work in play, the client official said.
Fogarty Rolls Out Houston Cellular Ads
DALLAS--Fogarty Klein & Partners in Houston has launched a new campaign that emphasizes the reliability of Houston Cellular's digital system. The effort includes print, outdoor and a 30-second TV spot, which shows a visual of the cell rings emitted from a phone's antenna. "Coming through again and again" is the tag.
Rick Johnson Bows Angel Fire Campaign
DALLAS--Rick Johnson & Co., Albuquerque, N.M., next month will introduce new television, print, outdoor and radio ads for Angel Fire Resort. Four 15-second TV spots promote the New Mexico ski destination's short wait times, satisfaction guarantee, and a new children's ski and snowboard center. The tagline is: "It's all up here."
Naugher to Direct PR for Littlefield
DALLAS--Andrew Naugher, former senior account executive at Fleishman-Hillard in Kansas City, has been hired to head public relations for Littlefield Marketing & Advertising in Tulsa, Okla. Naugher, who assumes the title of vice president of public relations, has also had stints on the client side at Hallmark, H&R Block and Applebee's.
Selah to Promote Main Event Gaming Center
DALLAS--Selah Associates here was tapped to develop advertising promoting the grand opening of Main Event, an entertainment and gaming complex in Lewisville, Texas. A TV spot created by the shop will run on area cable stations. Billings were undisclosed.
Simon Advances to CD Post at GSD&M
DALLAS--Associate creative director Annette Simon was promoted to creative director at GSD&M, Austin, Texas. She will partner with Rich Terry on the Fannie Mae, On the Border and Lennox accounts. Simon, who joined the agency two years ago, has also worked at McKinney & Silver in Raleigh, N.C.
JWT Breaks Its First Blockbuster TV Spots
CHICAGO--Blockbuster touts its video game rental program in two 30-second TV spots this week from J. Walter Thompson here. The ads, JWT's first for the video rental company, air on Nickelodeon, MTV and in-school network Channel One. The spots are tagged, "Are you game enough?" Spending was not disclosed.
