WestWayne to Part Ways With Simmons
ATLANTA–WestWayne has resigned the $6 million Simmons Beautyrest mattress account, effective at the end of 1999. The agency, which first began working with Simmons in 1994, won a 1996 gold Effie for “Dropping the Ball.” That commercial used a bowling ball to illustrate the benefits of sleeping on a Beautyrest. The agency and client are both based here.
Cadmus Continues Closings, Consolidations
ATLANTA–Cadmus Communications Corp. will close its point-of-purchase unit here and consolidate several of its Mack commercial printing divisions in an attempt to restructure and cut losses.
