– FCB Withdraws From Penney’s Review
CHICAGO–FCB Worldwide has dropped out of the pitch for J.C. Penney’s $100 million account after an initial meeting revealed significant differences in strategy, the agency said. Incumbent Temerlin McClain in Dallas, like FCB a True North Communications company, is not participating in the review. A True North representative estimated lost revenues on an annualized basis to be $8 million. Agencies that remain in contention for the mass merchant’s advertising business are BBDO Worldwide, McCann-Erickson and Saatchi & Saatchi, all New York, and DDB’s Chicago and Dallas offices.
