- O&M Pitching Denny's Restaurants
ATLANTA--Denny's Restaurants, Spartanburg, N.C., will hear credentials presentations from five agencies the first week of April for lead creative duties, said client director of national advertising Jenifer Harmon. They are: Ogilvy & Mather, Chicago; Fitzgerald & Co. in Atlanta; the Tampa, Fla., division of WestWayne; and New York shops The Kaplan Thaler Group and Merkley Newman Harty. Harmon said the creative account is less than $10 million.

CHICAGO--Kragie/Newell is teamed with DDB Chicago in a pitch against the team of Leo Burnett and Moroch & Associates for the $12-15 million Michigan McDonald's co-op business, sources said last week. Hoffman/Lewis in San Francisco, a McDonald's regional shop, did not make the finals while incumbent Arnold Communications, Boston, dropped out, sources said.
- Riney Expected to Win OfficeMax
CHICAGO--OfficeMax is expected to assign its $60 million account to Publicis & Hal Riney in Chicago, sources said. OfficeMax.com is conducting a separate review for its $20 million business.
- MVBMS/Euro RSCG Takes the Subway
CHICAGO--Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG in New York won Subway's $30 million creative business in a review over finalists Mullen in Wenham, Mass., and The Martin Agency, Richmond Va. The Milford, Conn., sandwich shop chain split with incumbent Publicis & Hal Riney in Chicago late last year.
- DDB Chicago Nabs 6 Effies
CHICAGO--DDB Chicago won six Effie Awards from the New York American Marketing Association, the most of any Midwest shop. Winning campaigns from DDB were for Budweiser, Wilson, McDonald's, Duck brand and the City of Chicago. Awards will be presented on June 7.
- FCB Direct Promotes Moore
CHICAGO--Derek Moore was named managing director of FCB Direct, replacing Clive MacLean, who left the agency. Moore joined FCB when the shop purchased CM Partners in January 1999.
- JWT Detroit Adds Ford Dealer Account
ATLANTA--J. Walter Thompson in Detroit topped three Florida contenders for the South Florida Ford Dealers Association's $15-20 million account. JWT's Detroit office teamed with its Atlanta division to defeat BSP Group, Miami; The Ad Team, North Miami; and St. John & Partners, Jacksonville. Coral Gables, Fla., incumbent Cooper HMS did not defend.
- DraftWorldwide Acquires Swedish Shop
CHICAGO--DraftWorldwide has acquired Trampolin Advertising in Stockholm, Sweden, the Chicago marketing shop's first foray into Scandinavia. The shop, which handles direct marketing, sales promotion and production in addition to having an interactive division, will change its name to DraftWorldwide Sweden.
