Harrah's Entertainment Eyes Carmichael Lynch
CHICAGO: Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis, is expected to be assigned development of a corporate image campaign for Harrah's Entertainment, Memphis, Tenn. The business, which could bill more than $15 million, may also include media buying. Trahan, Burden & Charles in Baltimore is expected to continue handling field advertising. Harrah's officials could not be reached for comment. Carmichael Lynch declined comment.

FCB, TN Taking Taco Bell Field Marketing, Media
LOS ANGELES: Taco Bell Corp. is expected to announce this week the selection of Foote, Cone & Belding to handle its field marketing advertising account, according to sources. FCB's Santa Ana, Calif., office will head up the estimated $80 million business. In addition, the Irvine, Calif.-based fast-food chain is expected to move local and national media buying and planning, estimated at $100 million, to Chicago-based TN Media. The Costa Mesa, Calif., office of Bozell Worldwide had previously handled media duties as well as a majority of field marketing for the client.

S.C. Johnson Acquiring DowBrands
CHICAGO: S.C. Johnson & Son, Racine, Wis., has agreed to acquire DowBrands, the Indianapolis-based consumer products unit of Dow Chemical. When it is completed, the merger could benefit Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, S.C. Johnson's global agency. Campbell Mithun Esty in Minneapolis handles the $80-100 million DowBrands business.

Advertising Group Sues Chicago Council
CHICAGO: A coalition of outdoor advertising companies last week filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court here challenging the city's ban on most outdoor cigarette and alcohol advertising. The Federation of Advertising Industry Representatives argues that the law, passed by the Chicago City Council on Sept. 10, violates the First Amendment rights of advertisers.

Richards Replaces JWT on 7-Eleven Creative
DALLAS: The Southland Corp.'s 7-Eleven convenience store chain has quietly shifted lead creative agency status on its estimated $25 million account to The Richards Group, Dallas, from J. Walter Thompson, Chicago. 7-Eleven representative Margaret Chabris said the relationship with JWT was severed earlier this year. The move has expanded Richards' role beyond the project work it acquired last year.

Chernin's Shoes Opens Review
CHICAGO: Chernin's Shoes is reviewing its estimated $1 million account. Incumbent Jack Levy Associates here and agencies with retail experience and promotions capabilities will be invited to participate.
