DFA Says Cheese to BBDO Chicago

Agencies Prepare for Lite Showdown
CHICAGO--Fallon McElligott, Minneapolis, will "fight like hell," said one agency insider, to retain creative duties for Miller Brewing's Miller Lite, now up for grabs among that shop and roster agencies Young & Rubicam, New York, and Wieden & Kennedy, Portland, Ore. Sources confirmed the Milwaukee brewer has put the struggling brand into review, unhappy with the results of Fallon's offbeat "Dick" campaign. Spearheading Y&R's pitch, said sources, are three executives who formerly worked at BBDO Toronto, which successfully launched Miller's Red Dog beer in 1994. Strategic presentations are due in mid-December, and creative showings a month later, sources said. Media buying remains at Starcom Media Services here. Miller spent $150 million on Lite last year, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
