Temerlin Touts NationsBank Conversion
DALLAS--Temerlin McClain of Irving, Texas, last week released a 90-second television spot that unveiled client NationsBank's change to the Bank of America name following its merger with BoA. The ad aired on ABC's Nightline and CNN's Moneyline on Sept. 30 and was repeated Oct. 1 on CNN, according to a client representative in Charlotte, N.C. Temerlin is currently in a review for the $80-100 million consolidated account of the new corporation. Other contenders include BoA incumbent Deutsch in New York and Marina del Rey, Calif.; Bozell Worldwide, Lowe & Partners/SMS and Saatchi & Saatchi, all in New York; Fallon McElligott, Minneapolis; plus possibly other undisclosed agencies.

Bromley, Aguilar Adds PR to Sprint Duties
DALLAS--Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, San Antonio, picked up Hispanic public relations duties last week for longtime client Sprint's PCS services in South and Central Texas. Fees were undisclosed. The assignment includes community and media relations as well as event marketing, according to the agency. Bromley, Aguilar has been the Latino agency for Sprint long-distance services since 1991, and earned digital PCS marketing projects last year.

Thrifty Car Rental Nears Agency Decision
DALLAS--Thrifty Car Rental, Tulsa, Okla., is expected to make a decision this week in its $10 million account review, according to sources. Thrifty officials could not be reached for comment. Those contending are The Richards Group, Dallas; Bernstein-Rein Advertising, Kansas City; and Cliff Freeman and Partners, New York. Incumbent Ackerman McQueen, Oklahoma City, is not defending. New York-based consultant Advertising Agency Register is conducting the review.

Military Personnel Insurer Picks Finalists
DALLAS--United Services Automobile Association, a provider of insurance and financial services primarily for military personnel and their families, has selected undisclosed finalists in its advertising account review, according to a company public relations official. Richard Erickson said the San Antonio firm is currently scheduling presentations and hopes to have a decision in the next 30-60 days.

Saper Media Group Signs 5 Clients
DALLAS--Saper Media Group of Austin, Texas, has added assignments totaling $1 million from five clients, including Dell Computer and Tivoli Systems. Other new accounts joining the two-year-old shop are Child Support Enforcement, retailer Calender Club and software developer ObjectSpace.

M/A/R/C Names Research President
DALLAS--The M/A/R/C Group in Irving, Texas, has installed Daniel Sutherland as president of its M/A/R/C Research unit. Sutherland was previously with U.S. West and PrimeCo Personal Communications.
