GMO Nabs $30-35 Mil. AccessLine Account
SAN FRANCISCO--AccessLine Communications, which offers telecommunications services for enterprise and midsized businesses, has chosen Goldberg Moser O'Neill to develop and launch a $30-35 million ad campaign in the first quarter. The San Francisco shop prevailed over Rubin Postaer and Associates, Santa Monica, Calif. The national campaign will consist of print and possibly TV ads, according to a GMO representative. Separately, the agency today breaks new work for CVS.com that takes aim at online drugstores that lack the backing of a national brick-and-mortar pharmacy chain. TV and radio ads will air through the first quarter and tout CVS.com as "America's number one pharmacy, online."
Reviews Roundup Disney Channel Narrows
The Disney Channel selected four finalists in the review for its $10 million account, according to sources. They are: Ogilvy & Mather, Los Angeles; Saatchi & Saatchi, San Francisco; and Colby Effler & Partners and The M1 Agency, both Santa Monica, Calif., sources said. A decision is due after the first of the year. Select Resources International, Los Angeles, is conducting the review on behalf of the Burbank, Calif., cable network. Gardner, Geary, Coll & Young has been awarded a project from upscale home specialty retailer Williams-Sonoma after an informal review of Bay Area shops. The San Francisco agency will launch the client's online bridal registry (www.wswedding.com) in December publications. Lucy.com appointed Ground Zero agency of record for its $7-10 million account after a review. The two have begun work on a marketing campaign to break in the first quarter launching the online women's sportswear retailer. The Marina del Rey, Calif., agency prevailed over Amazon, San Francisco, and GSD&M, Austin, Texas [Adweek, Nov. 8].

D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles named Patrick Sherwood, formerly managing director of the agency's Detroit office, president of both the Los Angeles and Detroit offices. Sherwood remains in Detroit; D'Arcy L.A. managing director Diane Krouse reports to him. The change in reporting structure is part of an agencywide effort to share resources among offices with common clients. The L.A. office handles advertising for the GM Buypower e-commerce Web site, while Detroit handles the automaker's vehicle advertising. ... Former TBWA/Chiat/Day managing director John Truscott has joined Charitableway (www.charitableway.com) as vice president of marketing. The company, based in Palo Alto, Calif., raises funds for nonprofit organizations via the Internet. Truscott has spent the last 10 years with the Playa del Rey, Calif., agency, where he has led accounts such as Taco Bell, Energizer Batteries, Poly Gram Filmed Entertainment and The Weather Channel. Truscott's wife, Anne, has departed Colby Effler & Partners, Santa Monica, Calif., where she served as director of strategic planning since June. ... Kieran Hannon has joined Grey Advertising's San Francisco office as executive vice president, co-managing director. Hannon, 37, most recently was a senior partner, group account director, at the San Francisco office of TBWA/Chiat/Day.
