Dole Packaged Foods Selects Finalists





LOS ANGELES--Dole Packaged Foods has named three finalists in the review for its $3 million advertising account. Agencies asked to make strategic presentations are incumbent Rogge Effler & Partners in Santa Monica, Calif., and Dailey & Associates and Mendelsohn/Zien, both of Los Angeles, said David Spare, Dole senior business manager for juices. The Advertising Agency Register in New York served as the review consultant assisting with the search. Dole Packaged Foods, based in Westlake Village, Calif., markets Dole canned pineapple, mixed fruit and juices.





DMB&B Breaks First Gateway Spot





LOS ANGELES--D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles will air its first TV work Wednesday for new client Gateway 2000. The agency won the estimated $130 million account in March after a review. DMB&B's Los Angeles office oversees the account.





DreamWorks Interactive Launches Review





LOS ANGELES--DreamWorks Interactive in Burbank, Calif., is talking to shops about its $3-4 million media buying and print ad account. The work previously was handled by Butler Shine & Stern in Sausalito, Calif.





BBDO's Radio Ads Capture Grandy Prize





NEW YORK--BBDO West won the Grandy at the 33rd annual ANDY Awards last week in New York with two radio spots extolling the 'rush' of killing fire ants. The ads, created for Ortho's Antstop Orthene Fire Ant Killer by BBDO's Los Angeles office, were the first radio ads to win the $50,000 prize at the annual show sponsored by The Advertising Club of New York. BBDO's North American offices won seven ANDYs; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco took home five.





El Pollo Loco Selects Siboney





DALLAS--Siboney USA here has taken Hispanic advertising duties for El Pollo Loco away from 11-year incumbent Casanova Pendrill Publicidad of Irvine, Calif. Billings are estimated at $2-3 million. El Pollo works with the Los Angeles office of Foote, Cone & Belding on general market ads.





Mazda Launches Print Campaign





LOS ANGELES--Mazda Motor of America unveils a new print campaign in June car enthusiast magazines and other publications. The ads crafted by Foote, Cone





& Belding's Santa Ana, Calif., office, show car and truck models in color, with sepia-toned shots of people. The 'Passion for the Road' theme is maintained in print and TV ads to launch in June.





Accounts Roundup





NetChannel has awarded its estimated $3-6 million account to Asylum in San Francisco. . .Big Bang Idea Engineering, in Carlsbad, Calif., and Seattle, has won additional ad duties from Sierra On-line. The agency will oversee the launch of several game titles.
