ATLANTA–Months after learning their new agency moniker was already being used by another shop, the principals of Jackhammer, a spinoff of The Richards Group in Dallas, agreed to drop the name. The agency has been redubbed Pyro. Last year, Pyro principals were contacted by Chris Goldschmidt, president and creative director of Jackhammer in Birmingham, Ala. [Adweek, June 9, 1997]. Goldschmidt said his $2.8 million shop had been using the Jackhammer name since 1995.
