Horizon Names Hartman Western VP

LOS ANGELES Independent Horizon Media has tapped Cole Hartman to fill the role of Western region vice president, business development, the agency said.

Based in Horizon's Los Angeles office, Hartman, 33, fills a position previously held by Jerry Klein, who left last year to join Milner Butcher Media Group, Los Angeles. Focusing on client development strategies, Hartman will work closely with Western region executive vice president, general manager Zachary Rosenberg.

"Cole will bring added firepower and further momentum to our business development efforts," said Rosenberg, whose professional history with Hartman spans almost a decade. The two first worked together at Western Media, Los Angeles (now Interpublic Group's Initiative) in the late 1990s.

Prior to joining Horizon, Hartman spent three years as vice president, West Coast director at Aegis' Carat USA, Santa Monica, Calif. Before that, he served as director of marketing at the independent Woo Agency, Culver City, Calif.

Headquartered in New York, 16-year-old Horizon Media negotiates and coordinates deals across the media spectrum. Flagship clients include Ikea, IHOP, NBC-Universal TV and Vivendi Universal games.
