DALLAS Pyro Brand Development, a subsidiary of The Richards Group, has been awarded the $1 million advertising account of Home Interiors & Gifts, the shop said.

The Dallas-based agency won the local account following a review with undisclosed contenders, the shop said. Pyro will handle strategic planning, creative, public relations and Web site duties.

The shop’s first assignment will be to launch a line of home decor products known as the Better Homes and Gardens Collection. Debuting in January 2004, the new line was developed through an alliance formed between Home Interiors & Gifts and the Meredith Corporation, publisher of Better Homes and Gardens magazine, this past June.
