Hendell to MRM as CEO

NEW YORK MRM Partners said it has hired Reuben Hendell as its new chief executive officer. He joins New York-based MRM, part of Interpublic Group's McCann Erickson WorldGroup, in mid-September.

Hendell had been evp, relationship leader at the crosstown office of independent marketing agency Digitas.

Hendell, 42, will report to McCann WorldGroup chairman and CEO John Dooner. Pam Larrick, 53, who was CEO of MRM since 2001, takes on the new title of chairman and continues to report to Dooner.

MRM specializes in customer relationship marketing, custom publishing and database management. It has 62 offices in 37 countries.

In a statement, Dooner praised Larrick's accomplishments at MRM, including "the recent Microsoft worldwide account consolidation being but the latest recognition of its global growth and stature. Reuben's experience with blue-chip clients, multi-faceted CRM expertise and multi-office background will help us build on MRM's momentum, working closely with Pam and her terrific team of people around the world."

Additionally, MRM chief operating officer Bill Kolb (who also holds that title at sister agency Momentum) will take on the title of president at MRM. Patricia Berns, who had been CMO and evp, becomes vice chairman. Joe McGee, an evp, adds the title of worldwide account director.

At Digitas, Hendell was responsible for the Allstate, AT&T Wireless and Best Buy account relationships. He joined Digitas, which is based in Boston, in 1995 from Query Object Systems, which provides database mining software and services. He has also worked on the client side at AT&T and American Express.
