NEW YORK – Revlon last week announced the resignation of Michael Hammond as Revlon NA president and the appointment of George Fellows as new chairman. Industry executives cited differing management styles between Hammond and Jerry Levin, Revlon’s president and chief executive, as the reason for Hammond’s departure. The management shuffling is already creating angst among retailers, who have long complained of the company’s heavy-handed trade relations. For the past year, the company had tried to mend fences by tailoring promotional events and creating greater incentives for the trade.
