The U.S. Olympic Committee hired Omnicom’s GSD&M last week to promote the U.S. Olympic Team in preparation for the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, Greece. There was no review. The Austin, Texas, agency’s task is to convey what the U.S. team stands for, a shop rep said. Omnicom’s Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, formerly handled the business. Director of public relations Cheryl Herbert said the USOC approached Goodby about keeping the account, but “they made a decision it was something they didn’t want to work on.”
